Ernie: Lost and Found {The Ordinary Moments}

Like many children, Cheeky Chap has a soft toy that he adores, a Jellycat elephant named Ernie. Ernie was given to Cheeky Chap on the day he was born and has spent every night with him since. Despite many attempts over the last seven and a half years, I have been unable to track down a ‘back up’. I could find different Jellycat elephants, different soft elephants, but never THE elephant. I could never find Ernie. As such Ernie is rarely… Continue Reading “Ernie: Lost and Found {The Ordinary Moments}”

Climbing {The Ordinary Moments}

Cheeky Chap is utterly fearless. He may lack confidence in many areas but climbing and exploring is not one of them. The thing is, he is small for his age so whenever he is climbing, there is inevitably an adult nearby looking for me. Try as I might, I never seem to be able to convince complete strangers that I know my child well enough to know he is more than capable. For example, he has been walking on the… Continue Reading “Climbing {The Ordinary Moments}”

Dog Sitting {The Ordinary Moments}

I will confess that I am not much of an animal lover. I mean, I have nothing particularly against animals but I’ve never been keen to have them in my life. In fact, Cheeky Chap has taken to calling Riddler his own dog and still, a… Continue Reading “Dog Sitting {The Ordinary Moments}”

Sleeping {The Ordinary Moments}

Every night before I go to sleep, I get back out of bed and check in on Cheeky Chap. I’m not sure why but it is always these moments, when he is sleeping peacefully, that I notice how he has changed. They are moments I cherish. Moments that I often capture on camera. It doesn’t seem to matter how bad my day has been, if Cheeky Chap has misbehaved, if things just haven’t gone my way, it is these ordinary moments… Continue Reading “Sleeping {The Ordinary Moments}”

One Boy and His Dog

Last year my sister and her partner got a rescue dog. As a young pup, Riddler used to be somewhat excitable. The first few times Cheeky Chap met him I think he was quite taken aback by him. With time and training, Riddler has calmed down a little but is still definitely a character. For around six months, the husband walked Riddler twice a week when both my sister and her partner worked. During the school holidays, Cheeky Chap would join… Continue Reading “One Boy and His Dog”
