I have been on the hunt for a new winter coat for a while now. I wander through the shops or browse online just keeping an eye out for that one that catches my eye. I am not a great shopper to be honest and I like things to just jump off the rails to me. With the temperature having dropped this week, I knew I would have to find that coat and I needed to find it soon. I have looked in just about every shop at The Mall and coats were either far too expensive (I fell in love with one last week that was close to £300), made me look even shorter than I am or drowned me.
However, there was one place I hadn’t looked, that I thought I should try before embarking on a trip into town, something I like to avoid if at all possible. And that was M&S. For some reason it simply hadn’t occurred to me to have a look in there before. So, on a wet Saturday afternoon, the three of us got in the car and went to the Mall.
We headed straight for M&S and I had my blinkers on, ready to go to each section within ladies wear and wait for a coat to catch my eyes. Except we appeared to enter via their Christmas section.
I know it is only just November. I know that it really is too early to buy Christmas decorations and cards but have you tried to walk through a Christmas shop with a four-year-old in tow? Don’t. Because if you do, I guarantee you will come out with Christmas decorations and cards.
P.S. In my defence, there is a chance I will be in hospital at some point in the next month or two and on strict bed rest for a good few weeks, so really, I should be more prepared by now and not just have a pack of cards and a few tree decorations. That’s my excuse and I am sticking to it.
